The appeal of the movies depends on their scurrility and the gap between the tardiness of the images and the often surprisingly radical impact of the story. Normally these hectic situations would be backed with rapid cutting. But not in the films by Robert Enneper and his team, who prefer long shots and calm cuts. This unusual approach strengthens the absurdism partly to more intensity than any splatter-movie. Frequently you don´t know whether to laugh or disgust.

“Hagefilm” is an association of the filmmakers Robert Enneper, Andreas Brauer & Tanja Weber who have shot movies since 1999. Some of these films are now available on DVD and demonstrate that the German independent film scene is flourishing. The three filmmakers present their diverse works that only have in common that they all rise above mainstream. Most pleasing is the variety, both of the styles and the stories.
